How long will my claim take?
This can vary enormously, but around three months is typical.

Do I have to pay anything up front?
No, Not a penny. Ruddy Duck pay all our own costs, including statement request fees and court charges.

Will incur any costs if my claim is unsuccessful?
Definitely not. When we say we operate on a “no win, no fee” basis, that’s exactly what we mean.

Will you claim back 100% of our overcharge?
Yes – including statutory interest.

How do you make your money?
Ruddy Duck operates on a no-win, no-fee basis, with nothing to pay up front. When we’ve recovered all your overcharges plus statutory interest, we take a 25% fee plus VAT.

Can you still help me if I’ve already started a claim against my bank?
As long as you have not yet served court papers, we usually can. To enable us to take over the litigation, we require all the documentation and statements by recorded delivery post. But please call us first to discuss your individual situation.

I’ve closed my account some time ago, can you still help me make a claim?
Yes. In most cases, Ruddy Duck can reclaim charges for the past six years irrespective of whether the account is still open.

Will my bank terminate my account if I pursue a claim?
This is possible, but unlikely. The Banking Code Standards Board clearly advises banks that they should not take a “disproportionate response” and should treat customers “sympathetically and positively”. You may be certain that our approach is always formal and professional, and we aim to minimize any disagreements between banks and customers.

I only have a joint account, can I still claim?
If you have joint accounts, you can still claim, however if the account requires two signatures for withdrawing money, or writing a cheque for example, then both signatures will be required on all correspondence with both the banks and us.

If I claim, will it affect my credit rating?
No.

I am a Business customer can I still claim?
Yes, Businesses are sometimes unaware but they are entitled to claim back their last six years charges also.

I am worried about Identity Fraud - can I trust you with my bank statements?
We share our customers concerns about Identity Fraud. We use your details only to reclaim your charges and in accordance with Data Protection secure your statements securely.
